Setting up an email account using SMTP ensures optimal deliverability and seamless integration with Interceptly. Here's how to connect any email account.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Gather Your SMTP Details

To connect your email account, you'll need the following details, which you can obtain from your email service provider:

    • SMTP Server Address: This varies by provider (e.g., smtp.gmail.com, smtp.outlook.com, etc.).

    • SMTP Port Number: Typically 587 for TLS or 465 for SSL. Confirm with your provider.

    • Username: Usually, your full email address (e.g., [email protected]).

    • Password: The password for your email account or an app-specific password (if applicable).

  2. Log in to Interceptly

    • Navigate to the "Accounts" section in your Interceptly dashboard.

    • Click "Add New Account" or select an existing account to modify.

  3. Enter SMTP Settings

    • Email Address: Enter your email (e.g., [email protected]).

    • SMTP Server: Enter the SMTP server address provided by your mailbox provider.

    • Port Number: Use 587 (TLS) or 465 (SSL). If neither works, check with your provider for confirmation.

    • Encryption: Choose TLS or SSL based on your provider’s recommendation.

    • Authentication: Ensure this is set to "Yes" or "Enabled."

  4. Test the Connection

    • Once the details are entered, click "Test Connection".

    • Interceptly will verify the settings and confirm the connection.

  5. Resolve Errors (if any)

    • Double-check your SMTP settings, especially the port and encryption type.

    • If you encounter issues, contact your mailbox provider to confirm the correct configuration.

  6. Complete Setup

After a successful test, save your settings, and you’re ready to start sending emails via SMTP!

🚀 Success! Your email account has been added via SMTP. Simply repeat the steps to add more accounts.
