How to Recontact Prospects on a Campaign

Control whether a campaign re-engages prospects you have previously contacted on LinkedIn

Written by Rhegen

The "Recontact Prospects" setting determines whether Interceptly will contact prospects who already have an existing LinkedIn conversation with you. When disabled, those prospects are paused automatically to prevent duplicate outreach.

Enabling Recontact Prospects

To enable this setting, follow these steps:

  1. Select "Campaigns" from the main navigation.

  2. Select the campaign you want to adjust.

  3. Select "Settings" from the menu at the top of the campaign.

  4. Turn on the "Recontact Prospects" toggle.

How This Setting Works

Interceptly checks for existing LinkedIn conversations with prospects at the point of campaign launch.

When the setting is enabled, prospects with existing conversations are added to the campaign and contacted without interruption.

When the setting is disabled, prospects with existing conversations are paused automatically. To resume outreach for those prospects:

  1. Go to the "Prospects" tab.

  2. Select the relevant prospects.

  3. Select "Action" then "Resume Campaign".

🚨 Important: Even with the setting enabled, some prospects may still be paused if they have a history of completed steps in a previous campaign or were already paused before being added to the current campaign.

Sales Navigator conversations

Interceptly only checks for existing conversations in the main LinkedIn inbox. If a prospect's previous conversations took place in Sales Navigator, Interceptly will not detect them. Those prospects will not be paused automatically, even if an active conversation exists in Sales Navigator.

FAQs

Q: When does Interceptly check for existing conversations?

A: Interceptly checks for existing conversations at the point of campaign launch, based on whether the setting is enabled or disabled at that time.

Q: Can I resume paused prospects if the setting was disabled at launch?

A: Yes. Go to the "Prospects" tab, select the relevant prospects, then select "Action" and "Resume Campaign."

Q: Does this setting apply to email conversations as well as LinkedIn?

A: No. The "Recontact Prospects" setting is based on existing LinkedIn conversations only. It does not check email conversation history.

Q: Why are some prospects still paused even though the setting is enabled?

A: Prospects may still be paused if they have completed steps in a previous campaign or were already paused before being added to this campaign. Enabling the setting does not override those statuses.
