Written by Lee

Changing your Interceptly password regularly helps keep your account secure, especially if you share devices, work in a team, or have logged in on multiple networks.

Step-By-Step Guide

This guide shows you how to update your password from inside your Interceptly workspace.

  1. Go to your Interceptly dashboard.

  2. Select the drop-down arrow next to your name in the top right corner.

  3. Select "Workspace Settings".

  4. Under "User Settings", find and select "Password".

  5. Type your new password, then type it again to confirm it.

  6. Select the orange "Change Password" button.

Your password is updated immediately after you select "Change Password".

πŸ’‘ Tip: If you use a password manager, update your saved password after changing it so you do not get locked out later.

Best Practices

  • Use a long password with a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols.

  • Avoid using the same password you use for other tools.

  • Change your password right away if you think someone else may have access.

  • Use a password manager to store your passwords securely.

🚨 Important: If you are on a shared computer, always sign out of Interceptly after updating your password.

Troubleshooting: "Invalid Token" Error on Password Reset

If you see an "invalid token" error when clicking a password reset link, this is almost always caused by a browser cache or cookie conflict. Work through the steps below in order.

1. Clear your browser cache

Before trying anything else, clear your browser's cached data and cookies. The steps vary slightly by browser, but you can usually find this option under your browser's settings or history menu. Once cleared, try clicking the reset link again.

2. Open the reset link in an incognito or private window

If clearing the cache does not resolve the issue, try opening the reset link in an incognito or private window instead. Incognito mode starts a fresh session with no stored cookies or cache, which rules out any browser data conflicts. Right-click the reset link in your email and open it in a new incognito or private window, then try completing the reset.

3. Force reload the page

If you would prefer not to use incognito mode, force reload the page to clear any cached version:

  • Windows: Ctrl + Shift + R

  • macOS (Chrome): Cmd + Shift + R

  • macOS (Safari): Cmd + Option + R

After the force reload, try completing the password reset again.

4. Request a fresh reset link

Password reset links expire after a short time. If you have waited a while or loaded the page more than once, the link may have already expired. Go back to the login screen and request a new reset link, then complete the reset immediately.

🚨 Still seeing the error? If none of the steps above resolve it, contact Interceptly Support and we will get you back in.
