How to Track Link Clicks on a Campaign

Monitor how prospects engage with links in your campaign messages

Written by Rhegen

The "Track Link Clicks" setting modifies links in your campaign steps so Interceptly can track when prospects select them. When enabled, Interceptly records message click rate and email click rate metrics for the campaign.

Enabling Track Link Clicks

To enable link click tracking on a campaign, follow these steps:

  1. Select "Campaigns" from the main navigation.

  2. Select the campaign you want to adjust.

  3. Select "Settings" to open the settings menu.

  4. Turn on the "Track Link Clicks" toggle.

How Link Tracking Works

When "Track Link Clicks" is enabled, Interceptly modifies all links added to campaign steps that contain text. Links to video content are not modified.

The way links are modified depends on your workspace settings:

  • If a tracking domain is configured in your workspace, links use that domain.

  • If no tracking domain is configured, links default to a standard tracking URL.

When "Track Link Clicks" is disabled, links are sent unmodified, and click metrics are not recorded. If a tracking domain is linked to your workspace but the setting is turned off, links remain unaltered.

πŸŽ“ Note: Video links may be an exception if video tracking was enabled during your tracking domain setup.

Viewing Link Click Statistics

Link click statistics are available in two places:

  • The campaign drop-down menu in your "Campaigns" overview.

  • The detailed report in the "Reports" tab.

Both locations show your message click rate and email click rate for the campaign.

FAQs

Q: Does link tracking work for all link types?

A: No. Link tracking applies to all text-based links in campaign steps, except links to video content. Video links may be tracked separately if that option was enabled in your tracking domain settings.

Q: Will prospects see that their links have been modified?

A: Yes. When link tracking is enabled, the links prospects receive will appear different from the original links added to your campaign steps. They will use either your configured tracking domain or the default tracking URL.

Q: Do I need a tracking domain set up to use this feature?

A: No. If no tracking domain is configured, Interceptly defaults to a standard tracking URL. Setting up a tracking domain lets you use your own domain for tracked links instead.

Q: Where can I find my click rate metrics?

A: You can find message click rate and email click rate in the campaign drop-down menu and in the detailed report under the "Reports" tab.

πŸš€ Success! Link clicks on your campaign are now being tracked.
