Managing Leads And Customers In the Inbox

How to Mark a Prospect As a Lead

Marking a prospect as a lead is useful when they have shown interest, replied positively, or meet your qualification criteria.

  1. Select "Inbox" from the left menu.

  2. Select the prospect conversation you want to update.

  3. Select the orange "Home" icon to open the inbox tools.

  4. Under the map and prospect details at the top, select "Mark as Lead".

Once applied, the prospect will be labeled as a lead in your inbox.

💡 Tip: Mark prospects as leads as soon as they show intent, so you can filter and prioritize follow-ups.

How to Filter the Inbox By Leads

After you mark prospects as leads, you can filter your inbox to only view leads.

  1. Select the "Filter" icon on the left side of the inbox.

  2. Select "Status in campaign".

  3. Select "Leads".

This view is helpful when you want to focus only on active opportunities.

How to Mark a Lead As a Customer

You can only mark a prospect as a customer if they are already marked as a lead.

  1. Select "Inbox" from the left menu.

  2. Select the prospect conversation you want to update.

  3. Select the orange "Home" icon to open the inbox tools.

  4. Under the map and prospect details at the top, select "Mark as Customer".

Once applied, the prospect will be labeled as a customer in your inbox.

🚨 Important: Only leads can be marked as customers. If the option is unavailable, mark the prospect as a lead first.

Best Practices

  • Mark a prospect as a "Lead" as soon as they show buying intent, such as asking for pricing or a demo.

  • Mark a lead as a "Customer" only after you have confirmed they have purchased or started an agreement.

  • Use inbox filters daily to focus on the highest priority conversations.

  • If you use webhooks, keep your status updates consistent to ensure your automation remains reliable.

🎓 Note: Status updates are most useful when your team agrees on what counts as a lead versus a customer.
