How to create and add a deal or opportunity to a lead in the inbox

Interceptly lets you create deals directly from inbox leads, so you can track opportunities without switching tools.

What a Deal Is

A deal is a record that represents a sales opportunity, typically associated with a specific prospect or account. In Interceptly, deals help you track:

  • Who the opportunity is with.

  • What stage the opportunity is in.

  • The estimated value of the opportunity.

  • Who owns the deal and is responsible for moving it forward.

Why a Deal Matters

Creating deals from the inbox helps you turn positive replies into a clear pipeline and ensures no qualified conversations are lost.

Deals can be added to your Interceptly Pipeline, HubSpot, or Pipedrive, depending on how your pipeline feature is set up.


Creating A Deal

  1. Select "Inbox" from the left menu.

  2. Find the lead or prospect conversation you want to create a deal for.

  3. Select the "House" icon in the top right to open inbox tools.

  4. Scroll to "CRM Deals".

  5. Select "+ New deal".

  6. In the deal pop-up window, complete the fields:

    • Select the platform.

    • Enter a deal name.

    • Select the pipeline stage.

    • Enter the deal amount.

    • Select the owner.

  7. Select "Create".

  8. Select "Pipeline" from the left menu to view, edit, and track your deal.

💡 Tip: Use a clear naming format like “Company name - use case” so your pipeline stays organized.


Best Practices

  • Create a deal as soon as a prospect shows buying intent, such as asking for pricing, timeline, or next steps.

  • Keep deal stages consistent across your team to avoid messy reporting.

  • Assign an owner every time, even if it is a shared inbox, so someone is responsible for follow-up.

  • Update the deal amount once you have the budget details to keep forecasts accurate.
